Lake Havasu City Launches New Free Boat Launch with Enhanced Features and FestivitiesSource: City of Lake Havasu

Lake Havasu City has a new spot for boat enthusiasts to hit the waters without hitting their wallets. With the grand opening of the enhanced Site Six Boat Launch, residents and tourists get their sails up starting Monday, April 29. The site boasts a new, user-friendly ramp, a versatile fishing pier, and other amenities without asking for a dime in launching fees.

The only free boat launch in town now features a fishing pier accessible to all, a fish cleaning station, restrooms, and a small area for beach-goers and picnic lovers equipped with a BBQ. The site includes a new sea wall, safety rail, and fence, according to the city's announcement.

Local authorities, including State Representatives Leo Biasiucci, John Gillette, and Sonny Borrelli, have worked to support this project alongside grants such as the State Lake Improvement Fund. Mayor Cal Sheehy noted the significance of the launch. “The project, made possible through the support of our State Delegation Leo Biasiucci, John Gillette, Sonny Borrelli, and grants including State Lake Improvement Fund, marks a significant milestone for Lake Havasu City and its commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors,” said Mayor Sheehy.

The City is gearing up to celebrate the completion of the launch. A ribbon-cutting ceremony, open to the public, will dock on Friday, May 10, at 9:00 a.m., as the City invites landlubbers and sailors alike to unveil the new facilities. For more about the ribbon-cutting or the launch amenities, the City's Parks and Recreation department is the anchor point for information.
