Polk County Man De'Andre Wright Arrested, Suspected of Murdering Girlfriend and Mother of FiveSource: Facebook/Polk County Sheriff's Office TX, Sheriff Byron Lyons

A Polk County man suspected of brutally murdering his girlfriend, a mother of five, has been arrested, local authorities have confirmed. De'Andre Wright, 23, was apprehended and locked up in the Polk County Jail, the Sheriff's Office disclosed without specifying his capture location.

Jasmine Muldoon, 25, was found deceased in a secluded woodland near US-59 north of Livingston on Monday after being reported missing the previous day. Neighbors last spotted her on Sunday morning, as per Muldoon's mother. Wright's mother was the one who alerted the police after Muldoon did not return to the home she and Wright shared, FOX 26 Houston reported.

Dewana Bowman, Muldoon’s bereaved mother, grapples with the inconceivable reality of her daughter's death. "She was my firstborn baby, she made me a mom," she recounted in sadness and continued to express her desire for Wright to be condemned to prison. According to KHOU 11 News, Bowman alleges that the relationship between Wright and Muldoon was toxic and violent to the extent that Muldoon frequently appeared bruised and battered.

The case now hinges on the results of the Medical Examiner’s investigation into the cause of death. While an official cause of death hasn't been announced yet, "You claimed to love my daughter, you claimed to love her children. Why could you, how could you do this, I mean I don’t understand," she told KHOU 11 News. The indictment against Wright had not been filed as of Tuesday, underlining the early stage of this ongoing investigation.
