In a significant blow to the local drug trade, Seattle Police, together with federal agencies, have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of heavy-duty drug trafficking in a North Seattle neighborhood. The bust led to the seizure of a small arsenal of narcotics and a loaded gun, officials said Wednesday.

After a meticulous, multi-month investigation involving partnerships among different entities, authorities were able to serve a warrant on a residence at the 400 block of NE 70th Street last Thursday. The raid turned to find a treasure trove of illicit substances believed to be circulating in the North Seattle, North King, and South Snohomish Counties.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the sizable haul included 89 pounds of methamphetamine, 8 pounds of cocaine, a quarter-pound of heroin, an ounce of fentanyl powder, 14,000 fentanyl pills, $16,000 in cash, and a Glock handgun. The cache represents a significant quantity of drugs, likely intended to supply a vast network of users across the region.

Law enforcement officers from the Narcotics division, SWAT, Homeland Security Investigations, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office collaborated to successfully bring the suspect to justice. The young man, who has not been identified, now faces multiple counts including Possession of Narcotics, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, with the potential to quickly add up to serve a fierce stint behind bars.
