In a recent police sweep in Needles, CA, two suspects were busted for carrying illicit goods early Wednesday morning. Cops descended upon the 3500 block of Needles Highway while responding to a call for service when they encountered Jeremy Anderson and Elizabeth Platt, both 32, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities say Anderson was found in possession of the illegal metal knuckles, whereas Platt had a suspected hit of methamphetamine on her. Anderson, hailing from Arlington, WA, didn’t get off lightly as he was carted off to the West Valley Detention Center. With bail set at a steep $30,000.00, he's now awaiting his day in court while facing charges for violation of P.C. 21810, according to the sheriff's department release.

Platt, who also calls Arlington, WA home, was processed differently; cited for H&S 11377(A), she was released right there on the highway, with an order to show up in court later. The duo stood as a stark reminder of the ongoing struggles both law enforcement and communities face in the war against drugs and illegal weaponry.

The Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department, led by Deputy Z. Haun, is spearheading inquiries into the incident.
