Two Killed, Two Injured in East Houston Two-Vehicle Collision on Galveston RoadSource: X/Houston Police

A devastating collision in East Houston has claimed two lives and left two injured after a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday evening, just after 8:15 p.m., at 5200 block of Galveston Road. Fox26 Houston reports that officials are currently investigating the incident which involved a silver vehicle and a truck.

The silver vehicle, while attempting to make a left turn from Timber Creed Drive onto Galveston Road, collided with the southbound truck. Authorities noted the force of the impact caused both vehicles to come to rest over 100 feet from the point of collision. The condition of the two young occupants in the truck, ages 17 to 19, remains unclear as they were rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Police confirmed the two occupants of the silver vehicle were pronounced dead. The closure of Galveston Road in both directions compounded the traffic woes of locals. In a post on the Houston Police Department's official X account, it was stated that "Eastside and VCD units are at a two car fatal crash 5200 Galveston. Two fatalities at scene, two transported. Galveston is closed in both directions. Assist by South Houston PD." Houston Police posted.

Confirmation about whether speed was a factor is pending, as the authorities continue their search for answers.
