The SF drug crackdown continues, with 45 arrests made so far, only three of which are San Francisco residents. SF Mayor London Breed launched the crackdown, calling for arrests for public drug use alongside the deployment of California Highway Patrol, state National Guard, and SF Sheriff's Office to tackle the fentanyl crisis. However, the crackdown has generated concerns over racial profiling and over-incarceration. SF Police Chief Bill Scott reports that 95% of those arrested were from out of town, raising questions about the term "drug tourism" and its political implications.
